Bengali Wedding Photography

Bengali Wedding photography is an art. It is a lot more than glaring yellow lights, people carrying heavy equipment, and getting in your way every time you want to grab some pakoras.

It is a profession that requires knowledge in varied fields and you as the one hiring them to need to make sure you hire photographers that work best for you. It's your wedding and these pictures are how you'll remember it for the rest of your life.

A Bengali wedding is a magical experience. It's an intricate show of love and age-old cultures and a promise of staying together forever. Right from the engagement party, pre-wedding shoot to the actual wedding day, there's a lot that happens, rituals and emotions so scarce and treasured, they need to be captured on camera for eternity.

Camyogi has in its arsenal some of the best Bengali wedding photographers for you. Our platform helps you get in touch with the best professionals in this field. We have different packages for you where you can select the ones that suit you best. You can also get photographers for your pre-wedding shoots.

It's important that the photographers working your wedding are well acquainted with the rituals and customs of a typical Bengali wedding. They need to be aware of how to capture the authenticity of the culture while keeping it photogenic.

Given below are a few pointers we encourage you and the photographers to keep in mind. -

  • When you're hiring photographers for a wedding make sure to meet them and let them know about all the events. Focus on what exactly you want them to get. As photographers warm up to their vision and reflect that in your work.

  • Focus on candid shots as well while they usually require a different approach and it's important to have a proper balance of both in your wedding album.

  • Put special emphasis on getting to know the customs and rituals. Even within Bengali weddings, there are different variations that one needs to be aware of.

  • Never make the mistake of not appointing enough people for the job. There's so much that happens at a Bengali wedding, so many events that need to be covered and at different locations, a few photographers can never do the job. Make sure you have a group of people covering each event without missing another.

  • But also while making sure you have enough manpower do not hire multiple teams of photographers. One coordinated team is more than enough. Having more than one team, they will only end up getting in each other's way.

  • There's a very pesky problem with guests who turn photographers at every wedding. There are at least 20 people armed with their phones clicking away and it can get tacky trying to manage them but you need to get your work done anyway.

We also have a list of important events that you need photographers for at your wedding.

  • Engagement ceremony - Engagement is where it all begins and I personally think it's a very sweet memory you'd want capture in HD.

  • Gaye Holud - If you don't have holud smeared pictures of you looking like a minion, from your wedding did you even have a wedding? Gaye holud is undoubtedly one of the most funfilled events of any wedding and you should definitely get photographers to capture it.

  • Bor jatri - My mama entered his wedding on a horse cart accompanied by 20 people strong band, I don't think I need to tell you further about how hugely grand the groom's entry to the wedding is. This makes for an excellent opportunity to get some great pictures of the wedding. The environment is charged with electric emotions and fervour and it's when you can get a few of the most genuine pictures from this enormous celebration.

  • Saat Paak - It's easily one of the most emotionally charged moments in a wedding and it's best to videotape it. Get your videographers to tape it from proper angles and edit it accordingly. If done right that'll give you a masterpiece that you'll cherish forever.

  • Mala badal - Mala badal no doubt give you some of the best pictures of the day. The symbolism of it is so important, it is a signature event of any South Asian wedding, especially Bengali ones.

  • Subho drishti - I can only imagine what it must feel like for the bride and groom while they stare at each other's eyes amidst a hundred people, it must be a very special moment and having that framed in a picture is probably the best idea ever. Every time you look at that picture henceforth you'll be taken back to that magical moment.

  • Sidoor daan - The finale of the days' events, a beautiful bride, teary-eyed from the yagna and little flecks of sidoor on her nose, it's a beautiful moment. Photographers often clamour to get the best shot of this and as they should!

1. How much does a wedding photography package cost?

Photographers listed on our website have packages made such that they suit every pocket. Packages start from 30K and last up to 1.5 lac.

2. What is the best time to book photographers for my wedding?

As wedding photographers are almost always in heavy demand, all year round it’s best if you do your booking keeping a year hand. That way you can also avoid last minutes hassles that might arise otherwise.

3. What is the cancellation policy?

It is completely dependent on the photographer you work with. Different companies might have different cancellation policies but to be on the safe side, I’d suggest you to cancel at least a few months prior if you want to be refunded.

4. Does the wedding photography package also include pre wedding photoshoots?

Now this is a question that you need to discuss with your photographer. There are enough photographers who include a pre wedding shoot with their wedding photography package but there are also some who don’t. It’d be best you have a thorough discussion with the studio about this.
