Destination Wedding
Here are some factors we encourage you to keep in mind while deciding on a photographer for your wedding
We suggest you have a talk with your photographer regarding the travel costs etc. In some cases, you'll be asked to pay for their travel, accommodation, and transport to and from the wedding. But I've also come across photographers who pay for their own travel and accommodation but of course, in those cases, the price of the photography package goes up because they need to cover the additional travel expenses as well.
In case you're planning an international wedding in a country that requires your photographer to have a work permit make sure they have applied for the work visa well on time. Not receiving your visa on time can lead to a huge mess which you obviously don't want any part of.
Before you book your venue be sure to enquire about all their policies. Although rare, some venues don't allow outside photographers or might charge a fee for it. So make sure there aren't any nasty surprises on your wedding day.
It is very important to make sure that the location is safe. Your photographer has thousands of bucks worth of cameras and photography equipment on them, take extra precaution while handling their luggage. I've heard stories of how these destination wedding locations can be notorious for tourists, so it's always important to take care of the equipment, in fact, to minimize the risk you might even consider shipping your equipment or even hiring it.
In a destination wedding, the location plays a central role in the wedding pictures. It's always advisable to take a good look around and scout out photoshoot locations. If necessary employ help from the local guides and get to know the place you'll be working in better. You can also do a thorough internet search and make a list of places you want to shoot in beforehand.
1. How much does a Destination wedding photography package cost?
Destination wedding photography packages stand at around -- not including travel and accommodation costs.
2. What is the best time to book photographers for my destination wedding?
Arranging a destination wedding is actually more intense than a regular wedding and it's always advisable to book your photographers well in advance. I would suggest you book yours at least a year ahead.
3. What is the cancellation policy?
The photographer or the studio you're working with is the one who decides the cancellation policy. If a cancellation is absolutely necessary I suggest you do it on time to avoid any last-minute complications.
4. How long will it take for me to receive my images?
The turnaround depends on the photographer but usually, you'll receive your photos in a month, while digital copies will be delivered to you within 2 weeks.
5.Do I have to pay for the photographer's travel and accommodation expenses?
Like I've already mentioned once in this article, in some cases you might be expected to bear the cost, but some photographers also like to make their own bookings wherein the price of the photography package will go up.
